Karpagam, 30 years old, hailing from Gandhi Nagar slum area, was forsaken by her husband along with her 3 children. Struggling to insure them their daily bread, she was isolated and helpless when identified by SPEED Trust. Added to this miserable situation, her son was battling with heart
disease. SPEED Trust gave her a helping hand on curing her
son from his disease and supported her through its exclusive autorickshaw driving training for women. She is now the nineteenth woman provided with a vehicle, proudly fighting the poverty by putting all her efforts in this new activity.
